We continuously communicate with our local health and safety officials and with the CDC to ensure we are doing all we can for the safety and wellbeing of our Lakeview Academy Family. We will continue to communicate with you by email and will also update this page with any additional news and information.

  • Register to Attend the Annual Meeting

    Lakeview Academy's Board of Trustees will hold their Annual Meeting remotely this year via Zoom at 7 PM on Monday, August 17. During the meeting, the Board delivers a report on the state of the school to all Lakeview families and votes into office new board members. Everyone is invited to attend.

  • Admittance to Athletic Events

    The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) has approved a plan to continue all Middle and Upper School sports. Lakeview Academy continues to adapt and set policies that also follow health and safety procedures, some of which affect spectators to our athletic events. This Thursday is our varsity volleyball team's first home game. The audience will be limited to a maximum of two family members per home player and masks will be worn inside the entire time. No other spectators will be allowed inside the WAC. The games will be live streamed, link to follow.
     
    Guidelines for other fall sports will be set as we get closer to their first game or meet.
     
    We are pulling everything together to make the fall athletic season happen during a global pandemic. Thank you very much in advance for your understanding. 
  • Division Back-to-School Information Released

    Details were released by each division in regards to their plan to start school on August 19, 2020.
  • Lakeview Academy's 2020-2021 Back-to-School Plan Released

    Lakeview Academy is excited to announce our back to school plan along with a message from our Head of School, Dr. Kirsty Montgomery. Our Back-to-School plan outlines the plan to safely reopen Lakeview Academy on August 19, 2020. It is designed to protect the health and safety of the entire Lakeview community — students, families, staff, faculty, and visitors. Click here to access the plan.
  • Update on Lakeview's July activities

    July 12, 2020
    Please find an update on Lakeview's July activities:
    • Lakeview Academy's Back-to-School plan will be released on Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:00pm
    • Senior Awards Night is Friday, July 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Walters Athletic Center (WAC). Please note: To ensure the health and safety of all attendees and to facilitate social distancing, this event is not open to general members of the Lakeview Community. 
    • Graduation is Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. on the Lions Baseball Field. Attendance is restricted. Further details have been sent to the parents of the Class of 2020. Please note: To ensure the health and safety of all attendees and to facilitate social distancing, this graduation is not open to general members of the Lakeview Community. 
    • BY POPULAR DEMAND! Additional Mini Town Halls with Dr. Montgomery (Click here to register)
      • 45-minute virtual gatherings with parents.
      • These are designed to be fun, intimate gatherings of 20 parents or less in which the parents can hear from Dr. Montgomery and she can learn about them. She will share a bit about herself, her background, and her leadership plan, and there will be plenty of time for Q&A.
  • Update from the Head of School at Lakeview Academy: Friday, June 26, 2020

    • Lakeview Academy summer employees returned to the campus the week of June 15. Using the three safety components Protect, Distance, and Disinfect, employees wear masks while inside and social distance while meeting.
    • Lakeview’s football, basketball, and volleyball teams returned to campus for summer conditioning. Lakeview Academy & GHSA athletic guidelines have been followed in order to protect the health and safety of all participants. A trainer is present at check in and for the duration of practice. Mask are worn by players and coaches when they are in the gym.
    • Lakeview Academy's Covid-19 Task Force continues its work the back-to-school plan for a full reopening on August 19th.
    • Health and safety remains Lakeview's highest priority, and operations at the school will be modified to mitigate the risk to students, staff, and faculty.
    • High quality in-person and hybrid/remote learning will be offered. Programming will include modified extra-curricular activities.
    • Lakeview Academy's detailed back-to-school plan will be released on Wednesday, July 22 at 5:00pm.

Athletic Information and Requirements

Using the three safety components Protect, Distance, and Disinfect, teams have returned to campus for summer conditioning. Lakeview Academy & GHSA athletic guidelines are followed for the health and safety of all participants. A trainer is present at check in and for the duration of practice. Mask are worn by players and coaches when they are in the gym.

Two forms, Lakeview Academy Athletic Conditioning Guidelines (rev. 6/17/2020) and Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement to Participate in Lakeview Academy Activities must be completed by all athletes on campus this summer and returned to the coach before the first practice or conditioning session.

MS, JV and Varsity athletes are also required to have a GHSA Pre-Participation physical form (good for one year from the date of the physical exam) and GHSA Concussion Awareness form on file in the Lion Portal prior to the beginning of seasonal practices for ALL sports. In addition, JV and Varsity players are required to have the Sudden Cardiac Arrest form. For athletes on campus this summer, these forms must be completed and returned to the coach by August 1, 2020.
